Anyone who's ever chafed at washing steak knives by hand will appreciate the low-maintenance appeal of this elegant cutlery. It features clean, modern lines, dishwasher-safe materials, and a high-carbon stainless steel blade that slices through thick porterhouse steaks as if they were butter. Sleek, one-piece construction is both stylish and practical, as there's no attached wooden handle to wiggle loose. Durable stainless steel resists corrosion, and the serrated cutting edge never needs sharpening. Henckels International is a moderately-priced, high-value line of cutlery made in countries outside Henckels's home base in Germany. They're stamped rather than forged, and made from somewhat thinner metal.
